Comenius – What is it about?
Comenius is a European project for young people. It aims to encourage European cooperation and partnership. In November 2009, the kick-off meeting took place in Lorch, Germany. About 20 students and their teachers from 5 different countries met there. The topic of our project is „Environment and Resources in their regional context – Tackling the challenge of dwindling resources“. The students from Italy, Turkey, Poland, Slovakia and Germany talked about the intensifying environmental problems. The project will run for 2 years, and twice a year the students will meet in one of the participating countries and will discuss the results they have developed.
During the kick-off meeting in Lorch, Germany, the students first visited the public services of Fellbach and talked about the CO2 emission in Fellbach. After that they visited a biogas plant and they could see what we can do for the environment. The next day, the international group of students and teachers met and talked about their first results. A few other excursions followed. After the excursions, the students collected their results and presented them. And one of the results is this website.
